Rose Gold Engagement Rings for Men

Posted January 4th, 2012 in Products and Shopping by admin

Rose gold engagement rings are a popular choice among women, but what about rose gold engagement rings for men? Well, while they are not nearly as common, there are some beautiful rose gold engagement rings for men available. They certainly don't carry the same popularity, most likely as a result of the rose or pink color of the gold, just isn't a common choice in the male market. However, some designers have managed to incorporate the rose gold in a way that isn't "girly" and actually makes for a very nice men's ring. I will provide some of my favorite rose gold engagement rings for men below, so please make sure to check those out while you are here.

Tips for Choosing a Men's Engagement Ring

Anytime you are shopping for men's engagement ring there are certain things you have to take into consideration. The first being, the style of ring. Most men, and I say this very generally speaking, don't like flashy rings. Too many stones or to much frill can be over the top for some guys, which is also why many of the men's engagement rings that you do find are often very plain, typically a two tone gold with maybe a small diamond or other stone. So when shopping for rose gold engagement rings for men, keep that in mind. The color of the gold should be worked in to the ring with out too much color or you may be at risk of being over the top.

rose gold engagement rings for menAnother thing to consider is the women's engagement ring. If you can find a matching pair of rose gold rings then great, but if not try to consider a pair of rings that at least resemble one another. This might be in style, material, etc., but sometimes it is more fun to mix and match rings than it is to find a matching set. So have fun with it!

Rose Gold Engagement Rings with Pink Diamond

Posted January 3rd, 2012 in Products and Shopping by admin

I have heard of quite a few people lately that were looking for rose gold engagement rings with pink diamond settings and I must admit that the paring of the rose gold with the pink diamond is a beautiful combination. However, they can be very difficult to find, even online. So where can you find them? Well, I tracked down quite a few and wanted to share some of my favorites below, so please be sure to take a look at our round-up of rose gold engagement rings with pink diamond settings.

By the way, if you are open to moving away from the pink diamonds, I encourage you to take a look at my other article on rose gold engagement rings. And in addition, you can also find these rose gold engagement rings for women. I always think that it is best to shop with an open mind and just be open to other possibilities, especially when the number of available products is limited, such as they are with these rose gold engagement rings with pink diamond. Anyways, here is that list I wanted to share with you:

Why a Pink Diamond in a Rose Gold Ring?

I absolutely love rose gold rings, well, rose gold jewelry in general. Rose gold has such a rich color that is unrivaled by any other precious material. But with the addition of the pink diamonds you get that real deep pink color that just pops on your finger. I would guarantee that you can not find a similar look with any other metal / stone combinations. Plus, rose gold and pink diamonds are just unique! You don't see either of them very often and when you do it is usually because they are being admired.

In fact, many women believe that rose gold symbolizes love and passion, much like a real rose does. Rose gold also makes a great accent to white gold and platinum as you can see in some of the pictures above. But, it really doesn't matter why you chose rose gold engagement rings with pink diamond setting, what matters is that you are going to have a beautiful engagement ring that will last a life time.

Congratulations!!

Rose Gold Engagement Rings for Women

Posted January 2nd, 2012 in Products and Shopping by admin

There are so many options when it comes to shopping for rose gold engagement rings for women, of course it hasn't always been this way. In fact, it wasn't until recently that rose gold became so popular. It has been around for a long time, but women around the world are really starting to embrace the rich color and beauty of rose gold engagement rings. So, with all of the new rose gold engagement rings for women available these days, how do you choose the right one for your future wife? Take a look below as I lay out some tips to make sure that you pick the perfect ring:

Tips on Shopping for Rose Gold Engagement Rings for Women

Shopping Tip #1: If you are reading this article it is safe to assume that you are interested specifically in a rose gold engagement ring. Which is great because that means that you can rule out yellow gold, white gold, platinum and all of the other possibilities. Of course there are still other things to consider like price and the type of stone that you want in the ring. If you know that you want a diamond as the center stone, then you can safely eliminate all of the other center stones from your list. If you have a set budget for this engagement ring, then you can again remove any ring that does not fit within your budget. Are you starting to see how easy this process of elimination is?

The more possibilities that you can remove from your list, the fewer rings that you have to look at and the easier your decision will be when it comes down to shopping time. So, continue whittling away at your list until you have a very specific set of requirements and from there you can begin looking around at what is currently available.

rose gold engagement rings for womenShopping Tip #2: Allow yourself an ample amount of time to look around, as mentioned already there are a lot of rose gold engagement rings for women out there. Listen, I know what it is like to be chomping at the bit waiting for the perfect moment to ask for her hand in marriage, I have been there before. However, you can't allow your impatience or sweaty palms get in the way of your finding the perfect engagement ring. It really doesn't matter whether you are shopping for a yellow gold necklace or rose gold engagement rings for women, you want to find something special so that you can see her eyes light up when she opens the box and finding the perfect ring takes time.

So, with that being said, give yourself at least a month to shop around. Check out the online stores, visit your local jewelers and do your due dilligence in finding the right engagement ring. You can ask her to marry you at any time, but if you are prepared the moment will be so much more special.

Shopping Tip # 3: Not all rose gold is the same. I am not sure if you realize this or not, but rose gold often varies in hue, you know, that deep rose color. This is definitely something to consider when you are shopping for a rose gold engagement ring as the ring may be too dark for skin tone or too light. Take a look around and see what you can find, but just keep in mind that these subtle differences can make a big difference in the long run. Most women prefer the lighter rose color in their rings, but it is really personal taste.

Rose Gold Engagement Rings

Posted January 1st, 2012 in Products and Shopping by admin

Now days there is a wide variety of engagement rings available to you, however today we are taking a look at rose gold engagement rings. While you might think that all of these decisions can make choosing an engagement ring more difficult, the reality is that many brides still prefer the more traditional yellow and white gold engagement rings. In fact, yellow and white gold rings are increasingly popular throughout the world. However, there has been a new craze lately and rose gold engagement rings are quickly gaining in popularity. The rich colors of the rose gold has women falling in love all over again.

What Styles of Rose Gold Engagement Rings are Available?

Rose gold can be used to create any style of engagement ring, just like traditional golds. With that being said, because of the deeper color of rose gold many artists choose to make rose gold engagement rings in the more classic and traditional styles, as the color compliments the design much better. Working the gold in a more artistic approach creates a truly beautiful piece of jewelry that appeals to a woman's eyes and heart.

Perhaps the most important feature of rose gold engagement rings is that their rich color and vibrant tones often inspire a feeling of romance and love. Many women feel that rose gold symbolizes love and passion, much like a real rose.

Roses have long been a symbol of love in our country and rose gold engagement rings are keeping that tradition alive with happy couples everywhere. Rose gold is often preferred by woman that have a stronger sense of traditional and classic styles. Although, with the increasing number of designs and styles being produced, their appeal is reaching a wider audience.

rose gold engagement ringsOne other truly great aspect of rose gold engagement rings is the ability to mix rose gold with other precious metals, such as: yellow gold, white gold, silver, titanium and others. When you see the rings that have rose gold accents on a white gold band, you can't help but look in awe. The contrast of colors will really stand out on her finger and bring comments from everyone who sees it. And we haven't even mentioned gemstones yet. Whether you want to make her ring pop with diamonds, saphires, ruby's or any other stone, you can rest assured that it is going to look great! In fact, changing up the stones as accents on her ring will make the engagement ring much more personalized and all the more special.

So when we get right down to it, rose gold engagement rings are both beautiful and stylish. They can be accented with just about any precious metals and stones, often come in traditional engagement band styles and will make your future wife very happy.

Rose Gold Engagement Rings? What Exactly is Rose Gold?

The simple beauty of rose gold engagement rings has people wondering where rose gold came from. Actual the process is pretty straight forward, rose gold is created by mixing a blend of gold and silver alloys with copper. Since gold is such a soft material, it is almost always mixed with some sort of metal alloy. The most common of which being silver and nickel. However, artisans have discovered that by replacing the other alloys with copper produces a rich, rose color. The more copper the artisan adds to the mixture, the deeper the rose color will be. While it is not an "exact" science, each artisan has their own particular balance of metals to produce the perfect rose color in these rose gold engagement rings. At times it can be a tedious process, but the end result is a stunning rose colored gold that is both durable and breath taking.

Product Review of Amazon’s Kindle 3G

Posted August 18th, 2011 in Products and Shopping by admin

Amazon’s Kindle 3G

Price $189.00

I am a bibliophile; there is no other way to put it.  I love books, I read constantly, any thing and everything I can get my hands on.  More over I love the feel of a book in my hands, turning the pages, the smell of new ink, or old musty pages.  Guilt edged onion skin pages or trade paperback novels, it makes no difference to me, they are all treasures.

When Amazon first came out with the Kindle, I thought it was and amusing toy.  When the second generation Kindle hit the marketplace, I was enamored with it, but still not sure if I could or more likely would ever use it.  It might be nice, but it really isn’t a book.  By the time the 3G’s were introduced, my hubby was doing his best to tempt me with the bright shiny new electric gadget.  I resisted.  I had been on the Amazon site, looked at all the specs, browsed the books, but I still wasn’t sold.

I received my Kindle as a Christmas gift, after specifically telling my family that I didn’t want it.  Needless to say it was quite a surprise.  After I spent a small amount of time reading the enclosed materials with the Kindle (small amount because there isn’t a whole lot with it) I tried to take the plastic cling Amazon advertisement off the screen (Stupid me it doesn’t come off – hey like I said not a lot of instructions), I turned it on and was amazed by the clarity of the text, the light weight of it, and most of all by the fact that I could receive a 3G signal at my house – next to impossible to get any kind of signal where we live in the boonies.

After down loading and reading a couple books, I was hooked.  It is fast, and easy to download books, the page quality still amazes me, and the selection of books is still growing.  Then wonder of wonders I found free books (that weren’t the classics…) And I burned up the airways downloading everything I could find. OK, so I love a bargain, and there is no better bargain than free, and yes I do know that I can read books for free at the library, the problem is with the library book I have to give them back, not so with my little Kindle.

I can also search the web, with the Kindle (not as easy as with a laptop or notepad computer, but when you’re in a different city and the only connection you have is the Kindle, It’ll work to find you a Vegan friendly restaurant.)

I love that Amazon keeps track of my purchases, and doesn’t make me buy a book for a second time when I have a blonde moment and forget that I already have that book.

With the new calendar and notepad downloads, it has made keeping everything with me easier.  And while I am not a gamer (at all) I enjoy some of the games, especially the word games.

The book lending feature is nice, I enjoy sharing books with family and friends (and with the Kindle I actually get the books back).  I just wish more of the books allowed for this option!

Would I recommend the Kindle 3G a resounding yes!  Is it a book?  Sadly, I still have to buy real paper every now and then just to keep my sense of touch and smell as happy as my eyes and brain.

Costco are the Benefits of Membership Right for You?

Posted August 16th, 2011 in Products and Shopping by admin

Is a Costco membership right for you?

Many people shop at Costco and the reasons are as varied at the members themselves.  It is a great place to purchase in bulk, everything from apples to toilet paper.  It is great for finding office supplies.  If you are looking for quality furniture, for office or home, the prices can’t be beat.  But what about for an individual or couple without a passel of kids to feed?

It can be daunting to look for anything in a big box store if you are buying for an individual or even a small family.  Especially if storage space at home is a premium.  It is hard to justify buying 36 rolls of toilet paper, 5 tubes of toothpaste, or a dozen cans of green beans, and all of these are shelf stable for at least a year.  If you look at perishables it can be down right scary.  Can you really use 10 pounds of ground meat, 6 heads of romaine, or a 20 pound bag of onions before they go to waste?

After all of this you need to factor in the annual membership fees.  There are several options for this, individual membership, business membership and executive membership.  Ranging at this writing from $35.00 a year to $100.00.  There are several options available to executive members, including a cash back rebate, for more information about which opposite best fits your needs, talk to a membership representative at your local Costco.

Not all Costco stores are created equally, there are many options, that will add in your decision whether or not to become a member;

  • Pharmacy – a full pharmacy with discounts on prescription medications, and supplies.
  • Gas Station – not available at all locations.  When available, they are usually significantly cheaper than your local service station for gas, but you must purchase with a credit/debit card.
  • Optical services including glasses and contacts, as well as an Optometrist on duty.
  • 1 hour photo developing.
  • Car Wash
  • Hearing Aid services, An Audiologist is available for hearing tests.
  • Ink Cartridge Refills
  • Print and Copy Center, for every thing from business cards to wedding announcements
  • Deli, offering great party platters
  • Liquor or Beer and Wine selections
  • Tire Service Center
  • Business Delivery Service
  • Business Services such as Credit card services, checks, and more
  • Automobile Purchase programs (discounts on new car purchases)

Talk to friends and coworkers about Costco, get their opinions of the benefits of membership, visit your local Costco, and ask for a 1 day visitors pass (you won’t be able to make a purchase – or at least you didn’t used to be- but you can see first hand what the store has to offer members) or visit Costco.com for a look at their online selections.

It was essential for me as a parent of two teenage boys who ate approximately the amount of food consumed by a NFL team, but now as the boy’s have grown to men, we still shop Costco for our staples, and the Romaine Hearts….Gotta love that Caesar Salad.

Shopping for Treasures at the Thrift Store

Posted August 11th, 2011 in Products and Shopping by admin

Thrift Stores, you either love them or wouldn’t be caught dead in one.  They are most often run by non-profit organizations, making your donations to them tax deductable, and your purchases from them aid local organizations that give back to the community.  They are often a jumbled mess that smells of mildew, and leaves the shopper feeling the need for disinfectants.  But they can be a treasure hunter’s paradise.

Collectors, like myself, as well as serious antique dealers shop thrift stores, looking for collectables and antiques at a fraction of the market price for these items.  Used clothing boutiques frequent thrift shops looking for the gently worn designer clothing that is regularly donated.  Designer jeans for example can be purchased for less than $10.00 a pair, which would cost upward of $200.00 to buy at your favorite boutique or department store.  And a growing number of infant/toddler boutiques are combing thrift stores for designer, new and used clothing, strollers, beds, and more.  Yes, you can find new merchandise at thrift stores, with the original tags still in place.  Especially in the Children and Infants departments, kids grow out of clothes so fast, that it is easy to set an article of clothing aside, only to come back in a month and find that it is now too small.  Yes, bargains abound at your local Thrift Store.

I collect Tea Pots, whimsical, traditional, oriental, miniature, new and antique, you name it if it holds tea, I have it I’m looking for it or I want it but don’t know it yet.  I love tea.  And tea related products such as cups and saucers, tea infusers etc.  That being said, I am always looking for tea pots.  I love going to antique shops, but I hate forking out the big bucks for a tea pot that off the top of my head, I couldn’t tell you if it was indeed an antique or not, or something truly collectable.  So if I spend $75.00 or $100.00 on a little tea pot from China, then find the same exact tea pot in my local Asian market for $10.00 I get a bit frustrated.  I’m sure you can understand this frustration, no one likes to be taken advantage of.

Since my collection of Tea Pots is not monetarily based, but passion based, I tend to look for pots that I like, shape, texture, colors, and design.  That is why I love shopping at the Thrift Store.  I can go in spend a lazy 45 minutes strolling up and down the house-ware isles and find charming little Tea Pots shaped like a bakery, or Santa, or even a desk.  They are often price well below $10.00 (most I find are below $5.00) they may be mass marketed, and worth little to anyone but a tea lover like me, but who cares.  As I said, my collection isn’t based on money but my passion for Tea Pots.

Here are a few hints for shopping at Thrift Stores.

  • If you are looking for antiques, know what exactly you are looking for.  Invest in an Antique Buyers Guide/Trade Mark Guide.  And learn the market value of the items you are looking for.  Even the Thrift Store can over charge.
  • If you are looking for House wares check for chips, missing pieces, cracks, etc.
  • If you are looking for electronics, you can usually find a place to plug them in to see if they work, but powering up may not mean that the thing will work like it’s supposed to. So----
  • Always check the stores return/exchange policy before purchasing.
  • For clothing, check seams, zippers, buttons, and snaps.  Look for stains, the clothing is washed prior to donation so visual stains could be permanent.  Compare sizes, hold up 2 of the same size garment, are they similar? Clothing can shrink down a couple sizes.  Also check to see if the garment has been altered.  I bought the cutest pair of jeans, only to find that someone had shortened them by about 5 inches.

Now that you are armed with Thrift Store savvy-Get out there and start looking for your own treasures.

Browse Our Selection of Promise Rings for Girlfriend

Posted August 9th, 2011 in Products and Shopping, Relationships-Marriage by admin

While buying promise rings for girlfriend 's can symbolize your commitment to the relationship, or marriage, promise rings can mean many other things to different people. In fact, while most people do not realize it, a promise ring actually has a lot of different meanings and can be given to your wife, husband, friends or even family members.

A promise ring in its simplest form is meant to be just that, a promise. It can be given as a promise to remain friends, as sort of a pre-engagement promise or a promise to stay faithful for eternity. Below, you will find several other common reasons for people to give someone a promise ring.

How to Give Your Girlfriend Her Promise Ring

For most of us, buying the promise ring is the easy part. The hard part is finding a way to give it to her that will be both special and memorable. Chances are, she is going to love the ring no matter what, but try to get some time alone to give her the ring in private and tell her your feelings. This could be over dinner or after a movie, anytime will work but be sincere and make your feelings clear to her. For many women, this is a big step and will be a very important time not only in their lives, but also in your relationship. Make it count and make it memorable!

Several Meanings of Promise Rings

A Promise Ring for Marriage

This is by far the most common type of promise made when giving someone a promise ring. You can purchase promise rings for girlfriend 's or boyfriend's and truly show them that you are serious about your relationship and about getting married when the time is right.

A Promise Ring for Friendship

Friendship promise rings are often given as gifts between girls to show their interest in being friends forever. These are most common among girls between the ages of 11 - 17 and are an excellent way to show your best friend how much they mean to you.

A Promise Ring for Monogamy

If your girlfriend is worried about you liking another girl or cheating on her, you can use a promise ring to show that you will only be with her. This type of ring doesn't have to mean that you want to get married or take your relationship to a new level at this time, but it does show that your heart is with  her and nobody else.

Regardless of why you are purchasing a promise ring for your girlfriend, make sure that its meaning is clear and sincere. If you are concerned that she might not feel the same way about your relationship, talk to her about her feeling before buying a promise ring. While many people may not see the significance of a promise ring, the fact remains that they are a sign of commitment and should be taken seriously.

Shipping Containers for Sale

Posted September 14th, 2010 in Products and Shopping by admin

I cover a lot of products on this website but usually don't get into anything commercial and/or industrial, however this article stems from my husband trying to find shipping containers for sale to use as storage. We have a decent size property somewhat in the middle of nowhere, and shipping containers make great little work shops and storage buildings.

In our quest to find a decent shipping container, we started looking locally and spoke with a few freight companies in the are, which needless to say, were of little help. So, we did as we always do and turned to the Internet for answers. And answers are exactly what we found, in fact there are several companies online that specialize in the sale of shipping containers.

In the event any of you are also looking for these, I have created a small list of websites that have a good selection and seemed to be very friendly when contacted. If you have any questions about our experience in locating these, please feel free to ask, otherwise, I would recommend directing any other "technical" questions about the containers themselves to the companies listed below.

Where to Find Shipping Containers for Sale:

To my surprise, there are quite a few places to find and purchase shipping containers online. These are the select few that I have had found useful.

Midwest Storage Containers - Midwest Storage Containers sells commercial storage containers throughout the United States. Midwest Storage Containers is a part of Big Blue Boxes.

TSI Containers - TSI has over thirty years of experience in container sales, repairs, modifications, and transportation. They are pretty well known throughout the industry for their extensive knowledge and ongoing commitment to a higher standard of customer service.

Interport - Interport is a high-volume container depot offering new and used shipping containers for sale. Their storage containers are ideal for storing materials that need to stay dry and secure.

Mobile Mini - Offers a nice variety of shipping containers include different sizes and door configurations. Double door storage containers are also available.

BSL Containers - This company is an ISO manufacturer in China supplying high quality storage, shipping, self storage and specialty containers to worldwide. You can sometimes find a much better deal by working out arrangements with the manufacturer.

LGI Transport - LGI Transport operates a small fleet of dry vans trailers and flatbeds used for special needs or for expedited loads. They always have used shipping containers for sale or even rent and are available nationwide.

Hopefully the list above will get you started on your journey to find some decent quality shipping containers for sale. The containers can be pricey depending on a number of factors such as new or used, size, delivery and so forth, but they will last for years, especially if well taken care of.

Top 5 Places to Buy Airline Tickets for Cheap

Posted September 9th, 2010 in Products and Shopping by admin

Like many business owners, I spend a lot of my time flying from city to city and while it is a business expense for me, its also my business and those plane tickets can really start to cost quite a bit pretty quickly. To save money I am always on the looking to find airline tickets for cheap and sometimes that's not an easy task. Which is why I decided to put together this post.

I wanted to share with you some of my "hot spots" for finding cheap airline tickets and who knows, maybe you all can save some money as well. One of the great things about all of these websites is that you can save money on tickets whether you are booking in advance or with limited notice. If you have any suggestions for additional places to save on these tickets I would love to hear them. You can either leave a comment at the bottom of the page or send me an email and I will add them to the list.

Top 10 Places to Find Airline Tickets for Cheap

1. CheapFlights.com - CheapFlights.com, like many is a price comparison service that matches up several airlines offerings to find you the best deals on your trip. I have used this website maybe a dozen different times over the last year or so and have managed to get some very good savings on my flight bookings.

One of my favorite things about this service is that they compare the prices from other ticket websites like Orbitz, Travelocity and so forth. Which means, you are able to scour some of the biggest deal service online all in one place. It makes it pretty handy.

2. JetBlue - JetBlue has had some pretty amazing deals in the past. For instance, at the time of writing they are offering flights starting as low as $39 from select destinations. I don't care how you look at, thirty-nine bucks for a plane ticket is cheap. For travel sites, their website is pretty easy to maneuver and like I said, they have some pretty amazing deals if you catch them at the right time.

3. cheapOair - cheapOair runs a lot of offers and you can usually find tickets for under $200 depending on flight dates and destinations. I will be first to admit that I find the website a bit clunky and difficult to work around, but if you can get past that, I have managed to find some great deals on airfare.

I would suggest searching around Google for any coupon codes before booking through them. I have seen a number of $15 off coupons floating around recently and that's enough to buy you some dinner when you get to wherever you're going.

4. LowFares.com - LowFares.com is another ticket aggregator that searches some of the popular discount booking sites to find you the best deals. For instance, I am looking at a round trip ticket to Atlanta right this moment for $128 and that is probably the cheapest one I have been able to find.

They pull price data from services such as Kayak, Expedia and PriceLine. You can pick and choose which services you would like to get prices from, which is nice as it allows a little bit more control for the end user.

5. BookingBuddy.com - BookingBuddy.com searches over 130 travel websites to find you the best price on airfare. I regularly use this service to find my airline tickets for cheap prices and overall, have been very happy with it. I would comfortable in saying that I have probably saved over $5000 in the last two years just by using this one website. Well worth a look if you are planning a trip.

My Conclusion

There are a lot of other services out there that can find you deals on plane tickets. I have found that a lot of the larger sites such as Expedia and PriceLine are priced pretty competitively with one another, which makes it difficult to find the best deals sometimes. That is probably the biggest reason that I tend to use the price aggregators to find airline tickets for cheap.

I recommend checking out at the very least, two of the services above before you commit to purchasing tickets. You never know how much that little extra effort is going to save you on your booking fees and its well worth a little extra investigation.
