In 2006 we saw the release of The Secret Files: Tunguska on the PC, which in many opinions was the best game of the year in the genre of adventure quest. The game is really good both then and now. The prospect of getting plunged in one of the most exciting mysteries of the XX century looks very tempting, and most importantly the embodiment of this idea is implemented very well. The game itself, in comparison with the desktop version, has been slightly revised, supplemented, and of course changed to adapt to Wii controls such as Wiimote and Nunchuck.
The game takes place in our time, 100 years after the fall of the world famous Tunguska meteorite. The game begins as our hero Nina Kalenkova decides to visit her father, but finds only the ruined study with evident traces that somebody has searched for something. The police say they can not help me, and from that moment our adventure begins. Here we have daddy's uncertain dark past closely connected with Tunguska catastrophe and we are going to find him. In fact the action takes place in Russia, Cuba, Ireland as well as in Germany and China. Though the game is good, but still there are some shortcomings and disadvantages. Let me mention right now. I mean ill suited conversations, sometimes there are list of mistakes in the names of all objects and so on. But to be honest the number of downsides is very little and it does not interfere with this sweet process of getting pleasure from this game.
Now we’ve finally approached to graphics in this game. As the developers assure us, we will see 110 beautiful game locations, and to our great surprise these guys are right! By the way the game isn’t filled with all sorts of cool 3D worlds which shouldn’t be in this game. But when going throughout Istria we can admire those landscapes stretching before us. In fact I can’t see serious defects in these virtual landscapes. As for design I can only praise it. The important thing is that in this case you can have an excellent opportunity to enjoy smoothness of the game, which has a positive impact on your mind. You can even forget that you are playing the console.
And finally sound and music should be mentioned. In this regard, not all is as good as in the visual aspect. The game sound is not bad, but you can notice this unnatural tone belonging to the characters. Moreover sometimes it’s a bit annoying. As for me I don’t like this music. I’m sure that the developers should have found something more suitable for their game. I don’t know why they’ve chosen this. But any way this game is a worthy one, I think.
